Serena Cangiano is Head of Digital fabrication Laboratory and senior researcher at Design Institute SUPSI. From interaction design to creative technology education, she teaches and carries out research projects by applying open design and innovation methods. since 2016, Serena has been co-coordinator of the project Re-programmed art: an open manifesto aiming at involving a group of digital artists in the process of reprogramming artworks by pioneers of interactive art. She has co-edited the book "Open Technologies" (Progetto Grafico n. 30, Spring 2013), and "Rebelling with Care" (WeMake, 2019). She has also contributed to several other publications, including "The Critical Makers Reader - (Un)Learning Technologies"(Institute of Network Cultures, 2019) and "Digital Transformation in Design: Processes and Practices Essays, Case Studies"(Amherst College Press, 2023). In 2021, Serena became a board member of Swiss Design Network, the academic network for design research in Switzerland.
