SpringMesh [iPhone, iPad, openFrameworks]

Inspired by the rippling behaviours of cloths and liquids, Ricardo Sanchez explores spring mesh dynamics using box2D physics. SpringMesh is an interactive cloth you can twist, pull and deform using multitouch or gravity. Created by Ricardo and published by apps.CAN, SpringMesh is available now in the AppStore for both iPhone and iPad as an universal app ($1.99).…

Scramble Suit – Face Tracking [openFrameworks]

It all kicked off about 2 months ago when Kyle McDonald posted ‘FaceOSC’, a tool for prototyping face-based interaction. The oF wrapper Kyle created is built on non-commercial open source FaceTracker code from Jason Saragih. Kyle included an example oF app with the ofxFaceTracker addon for openFrameworks which can be downloaded here.

Make A Snowflake Yours [Processing]

Inspired by the recent papercamp, presentation by Laura Dickinson (photos) and work by Richard Sweeney, Sermad Buni and tbwa-london commissioned Karsten Schmidt to create an application that would generate unique snowflake from your name – the twist is that we also give you a pattern that you print, cut out, stick together and you have your own 3D paper snowflake.

SKTCH [iPhone, openFrameworks]

We are pleased to announce that the first official CreativeApplications.Net app is now available in the AppStore. SKTCH is a generative drawing application for the iPhone/iPod Touch featuring digital artists we got to know in the past few months, contributing their code to the initiative. SKTCH brings together a very talented group of people, some…

Imagined as a tool to provide assistance to a conventional approach to sculpting, here an AI model is developed to seek out strategies that provide a constant improvement to how a given form is achieved. By feeding it with different tools, rules and rewards through reinforcement learning, the team steer the process revealing unpredictable outcomes.

Hyperfeel is a series of four video artworks by FIELD produced for the launch of the Hyperfeel shoe for Nike. Animated in Houdini using procedural/generative processes, pieces capture “macro-textural, sensual aesthetic” – describing emotions of running on different terrains: on sand, grass, tarmac and trail.

Curated in collaboration with the Moscow-based sound, art and technology community MIGZ, we are pleased to announce the Educational Programme for the Moscow International Festival “Circle of Lights” taking place 5th and 6th October at the Red October district.

Algorithmically generating 3d printed forms created for the sole purpose of listening to the “ocean”. In this process, the project attempts to address the role of experience in the mediation of the virtual world to the real world and visa versa.

Through an inspiring tutorial with 26 code examples Amnon Owed shows you how to use Processing to explore the creative possibilities of generative typography.

Created by Princemio in collaboration with onformative, the Pathfinder project was created with aim to contribute to the creative processes of choreographic development.

Kinematics is a system for 3D printing that creates complex, foldable forms composed of articulated modules. The system provides a way to turn any three-dimensional shape into a flexible structure using 3D printing.

From custom geometry to adding textures to 2D and 3D shapes, Amnon Owed shows you practical examples of a number of crucial building blocks for 2D/3D Processing projects.
