IDNA – Spatial storytelling prototype for the iOS

IDNA by Sylvain Joly is the first story deployed on their spatial storytelling prototype for the iOS platform. Each scene of the story is designed in 360 degrees, and thanks to the built in gyroscope, it can be explored virtually throughout.

Space Replay is a hovering object that explores and manipulates transitional public spaces by constantly recording and replaying their ambient sounds.

Back in 2012 Nicolas Ménard created a project at the intersection between graphic design and visual arts. The original idea was to design a book on the topic of colour, with a random process that generated abstract forms.

Project explores narratives through colour, line, and form found in geographic satellite imagery. Utilising Google Earth together with custom software, the final install spans over 27 HD screens pointing locations of the films that have been produced by IFP.

Through generative fabrication and computational design, this project aims to reconnect digital and physical contexts through a custom designed “chronomorphologic modeling” environment.

Karsten and Ricardo bring you this comprehensive introduction to Clojure and functional programming. From syntaxes, symbols, vars & namespaces to data structures, sequences, recursive processing and destructuring.

John Lennon: The Bermuda Tapes in an interactive Album App that tells the story of John Lennon’s life changing journey sailing through a mid-Atlantic storm to Bermuda in June 1980, the creative discovery during his time on the island and the artistic collaboration from abroad with wife Yoko Ono at home in New York.

Created by Felix Heibeck while studying the “Digital Media” Program at the University of Bremen, Cuboino a tangible, digital extension for the marble-game cuboro and includes modules which are active parts of a digital system consisting of sensor cubes, actor cubes and supply cubes.

CAN gets a sneak peak of the new installation by Universal Everything opening this week at the new Media Space gallery at the Science Museum in London. We also speak to Mike Tucker about the project development, concepts and the ideas leading up to the final install.

Generating Utopia is a realtime visualisation of social location data that explores questions of what human habitats could look like if it was possible to transform them depending on the location-based behaviour of their residents.

The software created was a gesture-based, “keyframeless” animation system, which uses soft-body dynamics to create motion in the same way you would with puppets – by literally grabbing bits of the 3D mesh and pulling it around with the mouse, and recording live.

Developed as a collaboration between Quayola & Sinigaglia, Dedalo is a collection of custom developed vvvv engines (and a toolkit) to generate, exchange and map data between a series of graphics modules and a rendering engine used for live performance.

Ishin-Denshin is an interactive installation that addresses physicality and intimacy in digital audio communication by transmitting sound through touch.

This project, a collaboration between Dentsu, Honda Motor and Rhizomatiks brings back Senna’s engine sound from that lap 24 years ago in the form of an installation set on the original Suzuka circuit that uses light and sound.
