The Automatic Orchestra is an audio installation exploring algorithmic composition and networked music. A common set of rules distributed among a network of MIDI devices opens up a melodic space orchestrated by automatic logic.

Created by Philipp Schmitt, Camera Restricta is a camera that locates itself via GPS and searches online for photos that have been geotagged nearby. If the camera decides that too many photos have been taken at your location, it retracts the shutter and blocks the viewfinder. You can’t take any more pictures here.

Created by Binaura, LandWaves is a raw sonification of a 1D reaction diffusion system originally imagined as an installation and now available for iOS – the team’s first anti-app non-interactive piece designed for the app store.

Starting today (27. April – 3. May 2015), the international NODE – Forum for Digital Arts in Frankfurt assembles international participants and speakers in the areas of design, art, culture and science, who newly define borders of design and programming.

In Karesansui, Aaaajiao used an algorithm and vvvv to create a landscape in a vector-field like arrangement of pitch-black mutant limbs, taking a viewer into an unsettling dystopian scenery of spawned beings growing out of the gallery’s floors, walls, and stairway, competing with each other.
